1st grade learns about weather

Some first grade students were selected to share their latest
project with
Dr. Cheney. The first graders just finished a unit in Science on
weather.
Mrs. Cannon integrated Social Studies and reading into the Science
unit by
having students read, Bringing the Rain to Kapiti Plain by Verna
Aardema.
The little huts that the students made were like the houses the
herders
lived in while they watched their herds on the plains of Africa.
The
students wrote in their journals to compare the life of the herders
to our
life. Students wrote about, “why we would want to be a herder or
why we
would not.”
