Spring Program at Tescott Brings Out Shining Stars!
Tuesday, April 22 was the night for pre-school through 3rd grade to shine like stars at their spring program. Pre-school got the evening off to a great start with “Katalina Matalina”, a nursery rhyme/ABC song, and the ever-popular “Wheels on the Bus”. Kindergarten followed with “Can You Tie Your Own Shoes?, “I Got a Dog”, and “Grand Old Duke of York”. First graders entertained with “Bunny, Go Away!”, a sentiment that many gardeners echo this time of the year. Since “Ladybug in My Soda” has a catchy tune, the first graders were pretty sure that a lot of people left the program with that tune stuck in their head!
Eighth grade guitar players performed next, presenting group songs, solos, and a duet. Rachel Van Pelt, Chris Terry, and Brittany Pennington performed solos, Amber Bell and Bayleigh Walker played “Surf Rock” as a duet, and the class presented songs that demonstrated power chords, finger picking and regular chords.
The evening ended with “A Race to the Finish” presented by 2nd and 3rd grades. This classic Tortoise and Hare story had birds, butterflies, deer, fish, and other animals joining together to tell the “slow but steady wins the race” fable.
