TJH Track Teams End Successful Season

TROJANS TAKE TEAM TITLES

The Tescott Trojans, enjoying home field advantage as they hosted the 2008 Twin Lakes League track meet, finished the day with 2 team titles and established four meet records in the process. This capped a successful season as the seventh grade girls won five out of six track meets over the course of the season.

The 8^th grade boys defended their league title in a decisive manner as they scored 128 points. Placing for the Trojans were as follows: Josh -2^nd 3200 meters, 1^st Discus, 5^th shot, 3^rd 800; Donovan -2^nd triple jump, 2^nd 400, 4^th 200; Sam -3^rd long jump, 3^rd 400, 5^th 200; Jake -2^nd pole vault, 3^rd hurdles; Rueben -4^th hurdles, 2^nd 800; Gage -5^th high jump; Wyatt -3^rd high jump, 1^st pole vault; Eric -5^th 3200 meters, 6^th 1600 meters; Ethan -5^th hurdles, 5^th 800 meters; Jesse -shot and discus; 400 meter relay (Rueben, Jake, Ethan, Gage)-^5th, 800 meter relay (Rueben, Ethan, Gage, Wyatt)-3^rd, medley relay (Jake, Wyatt, Sam, Donovan)-1^st.

The 7^th grade boys, despite relying heavily on 6^th grade athletes, scored 98.5 points to place second in the team title race. Scoring for the Trojans: Austin Herbel-1600 meters-2^nd, 800 meters-3^rd; Kyle Comstock-1^st hurdles, 2^nd pole vault; Kody Comstock-1^st pole vault; Joe Huerta-1^st 800 meters, 3^rd pole vault; Dustin Presnell-6^th high jump, 4^th long jump, 3^rd 200 meters; Trevor Webb-3^rd 100 meters; Wade Stimatze-high jump, Weston McClure-800; Corby Case-shot, discus; 400 meter relay (Dustin, Austin, Trevor, Kyle)-1^st, 800 meter relay (Trevor, Wade, Kody , Weston)-3^rd, Medley relay (Weston, Wade, Kody, Joe)-3^rd.

The 8^th grade girls placed 5^th despite scoring a respectable 52 points. Bayleigh was first in the 800, first in pole vault (new league record), 2^nd in triple jump, and 4^th in the 200. Amber placed 3^rd in Shot, 4^th in the 1600n meters, and 3^rd in the 3200 meters. Rachel competed in shot and discus. The relays were comprised of Shiland , Amber , Courtney , and Rachel. They placed 6^th in the 400 meter relay, 5^th in the 800 meter relay, and 6^th in the medley relay.

The seventh grade girls continued their 2008 track domination, winning their 5^th meet of the year with 109 points behind record setting performances by Emily and Shaelyn.

Emily defended her league hurdle title and set a new record as she placed first. She was also 3^rd in shot put, first in the 400 meters and 2^nd in the 200 meters. Shaelyn set a new meet triple jump record. She followed this with another record setting performance in the 800 meters, then continued on to win the 200 meters. Other winners include: Alexis -1^st high jump; Makayla-6^th high jump, 6^th 400 meters; Allison-5^th triple jump: Samantha -4^th triple jump; Alisha -6^th hurdles, 3^rd 800 meters; Taylor competed in long jump and the 400 meters. The 400 meter relay (Samantha, Allison, Makayla, Alexis) was 2^nd, the 800 meter relay (Samantha, Allison, Alisha, Alexis) was 3^rd, and the medley relay (Samantha, Allison, Alisha, Alexis) was 3^rd.
