UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 240
Minutes of the meeting of the Board of Education held on June 15, 2009 at the Unified District Office. Those present were Board Members Phil Aumick, Bernie Regnier, Mark Whitesell, Don Weiland, Kelli Webb, and Matt Ehrhart; Administrators Becky Cheney, Bill Edwards and Craig Gantenbein; Superintendent Richard Harlan and Clerk Cindy Regnier.
President Matt Ehrhart called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
The agenda for the meeting was adopted. Motion by Mark Whitesell, seconded by Kelli Webb. Carried with 6-0 vote.
The consent agenda (May 18, 2009 minutes and checks 44347 through 44459 in the amount of $524,597.59) for the meeting was approved. Motion by Kelli Webb, seconded by Phil Aumick. Carried with 6-0 vote.
Motion by Phil Aumick to approve the 2009-10 student handbooks for Tescott Jr. High, Tescott High School, Bennington Jr. High and Bennington High School. Seconded by Bernie Regnier. Carried with 6-0 vote.
Motion by Kelli Webb to accept the Irrigation bid from PSI. Seconded by Matt Ehrhart. Carried 5-0-1.
Motion by Bernie Regnier to allow Superintendent Harlan and Auditor to expend and transfer remaining 2008-09 budget funds. Seconded by Kelli Webb. Carried 6-0.
Motion by Phil Aumick to approve the 2009-2010 attendance of 9 out-of-district students, deny attendance to one out-of district applicant and take no action on one applicant to Bennington Schools. Seconded by Kelli Webb. Carried with 6-0 vote.
The decision concerning old playground equipment was tabled until further information is available.
Motion by Mark Whitesell that the board go into executive session for 15 minutes to discuss personnel. Seconded by Bernie Regnier. Carried 6-0. The board went into executive session at 8:45 pm.
The Board reconvened at 9:00 p.m.
Motion by Kelli Webb to accept the resignations of Trudi Rathbun as BJH Track Coach and Daymon Walker as THS Assistant Basketball coach. Seconded by Bernie Regnier. Carried with 6-0 vote.
Motion by Phil Aumick to approve the hiring of Lucas Kent as Bennington High School Science Instructor. Seconded by Mark Whitesell. Carried with 6-0 vote.
Motion by Bernie Regnier to approve the supplemental duty assignments at Tescott High School as presented. Seconded by Mark Whitesell. Carried with 5-0-1 vote.
Motion by Bernie Regnier to approve the supplemental duty assignments at Bennington High School, Bennington Jr. High and Tescott Jr. High as presented. Seconded by Kelli Webb. Carried with 6-0 vote
Motion by Phil Aumick to accept the negotiated agreement with approved wording and the revised calendar for the 2009-10 school year. Seconded by Bernie Regnier. Motion carried 6-0.
President Matt Ehrhart adjourned the meeting.
