UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 240
Minutes of the meeting of the Board of Education held on March 8, 2010 at the Unified District Office. Those present were Board Members Phil Aumick, Bernie Regnier, Mark Whitesell and Matt Ehrhart; John Adam participated in the meeting by Skype technology. Also present were administrators Richard Harlan, Becky Cheney, Craig Gantenbein and Bill Edwards; Clerk Cindy Regnier.
President Mark Whitesell called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
The agenda for the meeting was adopted. Motion by Bernie Regnier, seconded by Matt Ehrhart. Carried with 5-0 vote.
Rick Bremerman arrived at 7:03 p.m.
The consent agenda (February 22, 2010 minutes and checks 45534 through 45662 in the amount of $451,499.03) for the meeting was approved. Motion by Matt Ehrhart, seconded by John Adam. Carried with 6-0 vote.
Kelli Webb arrived at 7:07 p.m.
Motion by Phil Aumick to accept the proposal for purchase and installation of a kitchen hood in the Tescott Schools from Callabresi Heating and Cooling to be done in July 2010. Seconded by Rick Bremerman. Carried with 7-0 vote.
Due to technology issues John Adam left the meeting at 7:40 p.m.
Motion by Bernie Regnier to give Superintendent Harlan the authority to search for an assistant softball coach who could be hired at minimal expense and if none were found to proceed with hiring an assistant coach per the regular salary schedule. Seconded by Phil Aumick. Carried with 6-0 vote.
Motion by Phil Aumick to authorize the attendance of two out-of-district students at Bennington Grade School for the 2010-2011 school year. Seconded by Matt Ehrhart. Carried 6-0.
Motion by Matt Ehrhart to deny attendance to three out of district students at Bennington Grade School for the 2010-2011 school year. Seconded by Kelli Webb. Carried 6-0
Motion by Matt Ehrhart that the board go into executive session for 30 minutes to discuss personnel. Seconded by Bernie Regnier. Carried 6-0. The board went into executive session at 8:01 pm.
The Board reconvened at 8:31 p.m.
Motion by Matt Ehrhart to accept the resignation of Bennington Vocal Instructor Craig Plotner effective with the 2010-2011 school year. Seconded by Kelli Webb. Carried 6-0.
Motion by Phil Aumick to hire Connie Weiland as the Bennington Schools Head Cook effective with the 2010-2011 school year. Seconded by Bernie Regnier. Carried 6-0.
President Mark Whitesell adjourned the meeting.
