UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 240
Minutes of the meeting of the Board of Education held on June 22, 2010 at the Unified District Office. Those present were Board Members Rick Bremerman, Phil Aumick, Bernie Regnier, Mark Whitesell, Kelli Webb, Matt Ehrhart and John Adam by Skype; Administrators Bill Edwards and Craig Gantenbein; Superintendent Richard Harlan and Clerk Cindy Regnier.
President Mark Whitesell called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
The agenda for the meeting was adopted with one addition. Motion by Rick Bremerman seconded by Kelli Webb. Carried with 7-0 vote.
The consent agenda (May 17, 2010 minutes and checks 45899 through 46039 in the amount of $417,886.45) for the meeting was approved. Motion by Phil Aumick, seconded by Matt Ehrhart. Carried with 7-0 vote.
Motion by Matt Ehrhart to approve the 2010-11 student handbooks for Tescott Jr. High, Tescott High School, Bennington Jr. High and Bennington High School. Seconded by Bernie Regnier. Carried with 7-0 vote.
Motion by Rick Bremerman to approve the purchase and use of School Messenger parent notification system beginning with the 2010-2011 school year. Seconded by Kelli Webb. Carried 7-0.
Motion by Bernie Regnier to approve the 2010-2011 Negotiated Agreement. Seconded by Rick Bremerman. Carried 7-0.
Motion by Bernie Regnier to allow Superintendent Harlan and Auditor to expend and transfer remaining 2009-10 budget funds as may be required. Seconded by Phil Aumick. Carried 7-0.
Motion by Kelli Webb to approve the attendance of 6 out-of-district students at Bennington Grade School, deny attendance to one out-of district applicant at Bennington Grade School and approve the list of all out-of-district students attending USD 240 schools for the 2010-2011 school year. Seconded by Rick Bremerman. Carried with 7-0 vote.
Motion by Matt Ehrhart that the board go into executive session for 10 minutes to discuss personnel. Seconded by Rick Bremerman. Carried 7-0. The board went into executive session at 8:50 pm.
The Board reconvened at 9:00 p.m.
Motion by Matt Ehrhart that the board return to executive session for 15 minutes to discuss personnel. Seconded by Rick Bremerman. Carried 7-0. The board went into executive session at 9:00p.m.
The Board reconvened at 9:15 p.m.
Motion by Rick Bremerman to approve the hiring of G.A. Frederking as Tescott High School Assistant Football Coach. Seconded by Phil Aumick. Carried with 7-0 vote.
Motion by John Adam that all classified and administrative salaries remain the same for the 2010-2011 school year. Seconded by Phil Aumick. Carried 5-0-2, Bernie Regnier and Rick Bremerman abstaining.
Motion by John Adam to accept the resignations of John Webb as Tescott High School assistant football coach; Stuart Keltner as TGS 5th grade instructor, TJH assistant football coach, TJH boys basketball head coach and THS boys basketball assistant coach; and Kelli Webb as USD 240 Board of Education member effective July 1, 2010. Seconded by Rick Bremerman. Carried with 6-0-1 vote, Kelli Webb abstaining.
President Mark Whitesell adjourned the meeting.
