Get to know your teacher

My name is Jessica Gean. I am the K-4 Special Education Teacher at BGS.  I grew up in a small town in Southwest Kansas called Protection. I received my BS from Kansas State University, my SPED endorsement from Northwestern Oklahoma State University, and my masters from Fort Hays. This is my 19th year of teaching most of those being in Protection. I am an avid KSU fan. In my free time I like to go home and spend time with my family, especially my nephew and niece.

I attended Bethany College receiving my bachelor's in education with an emphasis on special education. My first job, as a December graduate, was a full time sub position at a preschool. Fin fact, I've now taught since then, every grade from pre-k to currently 5-8. My job is easy, I build relationships...thats the ultimate education for kids! They reach me more than I've ever learned.

I continued on to receive my masters in education at Baker University.

I'm going on my 13th year teaching, and my second year at Bennington and it's home.

My family and I enjoy our 2 dogs, going to the lake, boating, tubing and playing cards amongst many other adventures!

I received my Bachelors from Kansas State University and my Masters from Fort Hays State University. I have experience teaching grades Pre-K through 12th, and have been in the education profession for 14 years. I love spending time with my friends and family, going camping and taking vacations.

I have been a teacher at Tescott for 18 years and love working with the students.  My goal with each of my students is to assist them in putting a voice to their disability and recognizing and maximizing their strengths as valuable students. I attempt to recognize each student’s potential and keep them focused on making positive changes that will move them toward becoming productive adults.
On a personal note,  I live in Tescott and have 7 children that have attended Tescott Schools.

My name is Eric Winters and 2018 will be my 20th year in education. I have lived in the Bennington/Salina area since the 1980's with my wife and 4 daughters. I am excited to be teaching at Bennington Jr./Sr. HS beginning this upcoming school year. I personally enjoy playing the guitar, working on old hot rods and tinkering out in my shop.

Student/Parent Resources

We provide support services, Class within a class. This involves use of paraprofessional in the general education classroom. While we provide this support, worst case scenario we also provide pull out services; where the student will learn the same material at a different pace. We do this to meet the needs of all our students, so they are in the least restrictive environment. This is meant to deter the negative stigma that is associated with Special Education.
