UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 240

Minutes of the meeting of the Board of Education held on September 21, 2009 at the Unified District Office. Those present were Board Members Phil Aumick, Kelli Webb, Mark Whitesell, Rick Bremerman, Bernie Regnier and Matt Ehrhart; Administrators Richard D. Harlan, Craig Gantenbein, Becky Cheney and Bill Edwards; Clerk Cindy Regnier, and 5 guests.

President Mark Whitesell called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

The agenda for the meeting was adopted with one change. Motion by Rick Bremerman, seconded by Matt Ehrhart. Carried with 6-0 vote.

The consent agenda (August 17, 2009 budget hearing minutes, August 17, 2009 board meeting minutes and checks 44819 through 44929 in the amount of $574,090.39) for the meeting was approved. Motion by Matt Ehrhart, seconded by Kelli Webb. Carried with 6-0 vote.

Motion by Bernie Regnier that the district participate in the Food 4 Kids program. Seconded by Matt Ehrhart. Carried 6-0.

Motion by Kelli Webb to enter into a three year agreement with State Health Insurance. Seconded by Phil Aumick. Carried 6-0.

Motion by Rick Bremerman to authorize the attendance of 3 out-of-district students at Bennington Schools. Seconded by Kelli Webb. Carried 6-0.

Motion by Phil Aumick that the board go into executive session for 30 minutes to discuss personnel. Seconded by Matt Ehrhart. Carried 6-0. The board went into executive session at 9:00 p.m.

The Board reconvened at 9:30 p.m.

Motion by Rick Bremerman that the board extend the executive session for 15 minutes to discuss personnel. Seconded by Matt Ehrhart. Carried 6-0. The board returned to executive session at 9:30 p.m.

The Board reconvened at 9:45 p.m.

Motion by Matt Ehrhart to accept the resignation of Kim Oldham as Bennington Cook. Seconded by Rick Bremerman. Carried 6-0.

Motion by Kelli Webb to hire Jennifer Mader as Bennington Cook and Andy Brackin as Bennington Assistant Football Coach. Seconded By Phil Aumick. Carried 6-0.

Motion by Bernie Regnier to terminate the contract of Donald Feil as Bennington evening custodian after a two week notice. Seconded by Rick Bremerman. Carried 6-0.

President Mark Whitesell adjourned the meeting.
