The following are various scholarships sponsored by the American Legion. If you feel you qualify for any of them, please see Mrs. Mick or Mrs. Martin for an application.

NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL ORATORICAL CONTEST
DUE FEBRUARY 15
SCOUTING SCHOLARSHIP
The American Legion Life Insurance Trust Fund provides for a $10,000 National scholarship to be awarded to the Eagle Scout who is selected "The American Legion Scout of the Year." The individual selected will be named by the National Americanism Commission during the annual National Spring Meetings. Three runner-up scholarships, at $2,500 each have been added to the scholarship awards. The Department of Kansas also gives a $500 scholarship to the Kansas Scout of the Year.
MUSIC COMMITTEE SCHOLARSHIP
This $1,000 is available to all Kansas high school seniors, college level freshmen or sophomores who have distinguished themselves in the field of music and/or who will major or minor in music at an approved Kansas junior college, college, or university.
SCHOOTING SPORTS SCHOLARSHIP
An outright grant of $500, applicants for this scholarship must be a Kansas high school senior or college level freshman, who has participated in an American Legion Shooting Sports program in the State and Regional levels. The applicant must be an average or better student scholastically.
HOBBLE (LPN) NURSING SCHOLARSHIP
This is an outright grant of $300 to a student who is enrolled in a LPN program.
DUE JULY 15
DR. "CLICK" COWGER BASEBALL SCHOLARSHIP
This $500 scholarship is awarded to a Kansas who has participated in American Legion Baseball.
AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL LEADERSHIP
This $1,000 scholarship is awarded per state by National Headquarters to an American Legion certified baseball player whose name appears on American Legion Baseball's Form #1 that has been filed with National Headquarters.
PAUL FLAHERTY ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIP
This $250 scholarship is awarded to a high school boy or girl who has participated in school athletics.
Various other scholarships are available to students whose parents are members of the American Legion. Contact the counselors if you qualify for these.
