Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! My name is Tricia McVay, and I am excited to introduce myself to you as the new Bennington Grade School principal. I have served students, families, and staff in various roles in education for the past 21 years, and it is an honor to begin year 22 as a Bulldog.
I earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Kansas and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Kansas State University. During my years in education, I have served as a classroom teacher, a mentor teacher for new teachers and student teachers, an adjunct professor for students pursuing a graduate-level degree in education, an instructional coach, and a director for elementary summer school. I am passionate about ensuring positive relationships with students in order to promote life-long learning for all. I am thrilled to bring my experience as an educational leader to BGS, and I look forward to partnering with you to ensure excellence for our students and our community during this upcoming school year.
When I am not at school, you can find me with my husband and our six children. We have two away at college, three in high school, and our youngest will be in 4th grade next year. Sporting events and the arts keep us pretty busy, but I can be found with a good book or enjoying a family game from time to time as well.
I am excited to join the Bulldog Family, and I look forward to getting to know each one of you and your children. Although we are still several weeks from the start of the 22-23 school year, the staff at Bennington Grade School has been working diligently since May to prepare for the start of this year, and we are gearing up to welcome all new and returning Bulldogs in August. There are so many amazing things to look forward to for this upcoming year. I welcome parents and families to jump right in and join the fun.
