Twin Valley has been awarded a State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program award for a Cybersecurity Framework Assessment. The Cybersecurity Framework Assessment should focus on five core topics: Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond, and Recover. This will include:
-Assessment and discovery of our current cybersecurity environment
-Identification and prioritization of critical business risks
-Review of firewall configuration
-External vulnerability scanning
-Identification of security gaps
-Assessment of current cyber incident and emergency preparedness
-Establishment of a policy and procedure framework
-Planning for implementation of controls and ongoing reviews and adjustments of the implementation process
The framework assessment will identify existing vulnerabilities and potential risks in our working environment. Our goals are to prioritize risks to ensure that resources are allocated effectively, address critical risks to protect against potential threats, and to compare our practices against industry standards to highlight any gaps and improve our overall security posture. We would like to create an Incident Response Plan from the assessment.

As I prepare to begin serving as Superintendent of Twin Valley USD 240 on July 1, I want to share how excited and grateful I am for the opportunity to continue serving the students, staff, families, and communities of Bennington and Tescott in this new role.
Over the past three years, I have had the privilege of serving as principal at Bennington Jr./Sr. High School. During that time, I have come to appreciate what makes Twin Valley special—the people. Our students, staff, families, board members, and community members care deeply about one another and are committed to helping our schools succeed. That commitment is something I value tremendously and look forward to building upon as superintendent.
As I step into this role, my first priority is to continue listening, learning, and building relationships. While I know our district well, I also recognize that leadership begins with understanding. I look forward to spending time in both communities, hearing different perspectives, celebrating our successes, and working together to address challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
I firmly believe that strong schools are built through strong partnerships. Our staff members work tirelessly to create meaningful learning experiences for students. Families provide the foundation that supports student growth, and our communities invest in the success of our schools in countless ways.
